"smell and tell"

smell tales

Fragrance reviews by Flo Genes.

This is a beautiful woody-resinous fragrance. Natural, no chemical feel about it, smells like dewey willow wood in the mist of a warm spring morning.

The head notes are citrusy and include Bergamot, Grapefruit, Orange, Mandarin, Artemisia, Coriander, Cardamom and Cypress.
The heart notes are the ones providing the spicyness to the perfume: Cedar wood, Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Apple.
The bottom notes are Benzoin of Siam, Tonka beans and Moss.

Fresh and warm, slightly powdery due to the sandalwood, I sense mainly spicy Christmassy cinnamon, oak bark, cedarwood and hints of sweetness.
Projects well and the longevity is up to 8 hours. Although it's quite linear, it gets sweeter in the drydown (due to the benzoin and tonka beans).

Overall, it's soothing and comforting. Definitely unisex. Very clean, soft yet somehow sharp, but not crisp. Unique.

L'Erbolario is a cruelty-free Italian company that doesn't use animal-derived ingredients. All their products are dermatologially tested and GMO free.

Acqua Attiva, released in october 2009, is the first fragrance for men by Collistar. It was formulated by Alberto Morillas.

This perfume was created to evoke vitality and positivity. Its composition relates on traditional Italian notes, such as bergamot, santolina, freesia, vetiver and eucalyptus. It was inspired by the Mediterssanean sea and vegetation.

It opens fresh, with bergamot and grapefruit, followed by lemon blossom and freesia. Then you get cardamom blended with eucalyptus and in the end you sense oakmoss, vetiver and musk.

It's a very luminous and tonic scent, full of life and freshness. Zesty, summery, aromatic, a beautiful modern masculine scent.

Allure Pour Homme is a fragrance launched in 1999 by the house Chanel. It's creator is Jacques Polge, who also created the famous Cristalle, Coco, Coco Mademoiselle, Coco Noir, Allure pour femme, Chanel Chance. He is also the nose responsible for Emanuel Ungaro's Diva.

Although this is a complex scent in terms of notes, it's straight forward easy to wear and until the base kicks in, quite linear.

It's highly masculine, I can't really picture a woman wearing this (and please have in mind that I wear both women and men perfumes). By me, this one goes in "man only" section.

It's citrusy, a tad sweet, a little fruity, with an overall high class elegance vibe to it. The tonka beans and the vanilla give a warm sensuality to Allure Pour Homme, while the ginger and the citruses maintain its freshness. Clean, crisp, ideal for everyday wear at the office.

The drydown is absolutely gorgeous, the benzoin adds more sweetness to the fragrance and only now it becomes unisex: a sweet, slightly powdery vanilla-coconut musky scent, which lingers and lingers for hours. So, depending on your skin's PH, it can be really long lasting for an edt.

Very nice!
